Wellbeing is every individual’s responsibility and strategy!

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. We live in a competitive world, where we confront too many challenges every day. To cope up with the fast-growing world, one has to be healthy.

Our body needs adequate nutrition, fitness, and mental wellness together in a right proportion to lead a healthy life.

Its more about the moderate approach to eating and combined with the regular physical activity.

Eating a balanced diet that comprise of essential nutrients from all food groups like carbohydrates, protein, fats along with vitamins, minerals and water are necessary to maintain good health.

Eat Smart

• Be conscious on what you eat! Eat your meal on time, do not skip or skimp

• Include differently coloured, seasonal vegetables and fruits in your diet.

• Limit the consumption of foods containing high amounts of sugars, sodium and trans fats, as they increase the chance of predisposing factors for Diabetes, Obesity and Heart disease.

• Eat foods made with whole grains, millets, and brown rice rather choosing processed cereals.
• Ensure moderate use of edible oils and animal foods.
• Stay well hydrated, if you feel drinking water is a monotonous /boring activity, infuse few fruits/ herbs

• Keep away gadgets / turn off TV particularly while snacking that reduces the tendency to over eat.

Portion control on snacking is the key.

 

• Chew well and eat slowly, it improves satiety and aids digestion

• Prefer to eat homemade than processed that’s more nutritious and cost effective. Do not miss to read the food label on packed /processed foods.

Stay with your fitness goals

• Most of us are well aware of many health benefits of exercise, but finding the discipline to not only start training but to stick with it is often the hard part.

The American Heart Association recommends 30 minutes of exercise per day, five days a week. Aim to work out at least 45 minutes every day, may it be a brisk walk/ jog/ swimming or any gym activity.

 

Some trendy work outs include Zumba, cycling, dance fitness, home work out class machines, pole, aerial fitness.

Team workouts – Working out is more fun with friends, Team up, compete and burn out some extra calories.

Meditate and Mindfulness

 

 

Yoga and meditation are not just a trend, practicing of yoga has been here around for centuries.

Regular practice of Yoga will help to improve flexibility, balance, endurance and strength.

Meditation remarkably reduces anxiety, depression, stress and helps to keep the mind sharp and clear.

Embrace your health and wellness!
You are what you eat, but “how and when” adds value. Balancing the body with right nutrition, physical activity and mental wellness will promote over all wellbeing of an individual.
